Jersey City Medical Center/RWJBarnabas Health STEM Showcase
This page is designed to facilitate the registration process of schools, coordinators, and students for 2024 Jersey City Medical Center/RWJBarnabas Health STEM Showcase. Below you will find detailed description of each phase of registration. It is recommended that you read the entire registration procedure in order to avoid any errors in registration process. All registration steps must be completed by our posted deadlines.

Every coordinator that has students attending needs to be registered first

Every project and all its students need to be registered in order to participate

All participating projects and students are required to submit project/ISEF forms and media releases to us


1) Coordinator Registration | Closed on Monday, Feb 26, 2024
Coordinator registration needs to be submitted by school official, coordinator or a parent if home schooled, NOT by students.
Every coordinator with participating student needs to be registered first. There is no penalty for submitting this registration and not having any participating students. Coordinators are encouraged to register themselves as soon as possible, to expedite project registration process.
Students who are home-schooled within Hudson County are eligible for participation in the STEM Showcase. Please Contact us and we will be happy to walk you through the process.
Coordinator registrations are subject to staff approval. Students will not be able to register their projects until coordinator registration has been reviewed and approved.
Registration fees of $50 per student (not project) are due from school districts no later than Sunday, Dec 31, 2023. Registration fees submitted after Dec 31 are $60, and are due by Monday, Feb 26, 2024. Student projects will not be assigned for judging until payment is received.

2) Create Project Account | Closed on Friday, Mar 1, 2024
Account can be created by students or their coordinators.
Each project that wants to participate at our fair will need to create an account. Via the use of the project account, you will be able to add students to your project (step 3), submit your abstract (step 4), your project/ISEF forms (step 4), and media releases (step 4) for each participating student.
3) Project Registration | Closed on Friday, Mar 1, 2024
If your project is a team project, you will need to register under Secondary Teams (ST) Category for Senior Division (grades 9-12) projects and Grades 5&6 project (G5/6) or Grades 7&8 project (G7/8) Category for Elementary/Middle Division (grades 5 - 8) projects.
There is maximum limit of (3) students per team project and project id; and only one project per registration and project ID.
All participating students/projects are required to review all our participation, safety and display rules before attending our event.
4) Forms & Media Releases | Closed on Sunday, Mar 10, 2024
All students and projects that are participating at the fair, are required to submit project/ISEF Forms for the project and Media Releases for each student.
Senior Division projects (grades 9-12):
  1. Register your project and register yourself as a participant.
  2. Use the ISEF Rules Wizard and obtain approvals as needed.
  3. Upload your research plan and bibliography/references (APA or MLA format).
  4. Complete your abstract.
  5. Submit your signed media release (pdf).
  6. Check back to see if your project has received school approval and STEM Showcase approval.
Junior Division projects (grades 5-8):
  1. Register your project and register yourself as a participant.
  2. Upload your research plan and bibliography/references (APA or MLA format).
  3. Complete your abstract.
  4. Submit your signed media release (pdf).
  5. Check back to see if your project has received school approval and STEM Showcase approval.
All projects (grades 5-12):
Abstract is required for all projects in all divisions. Abstract, with 250 word limit, should list the purpose of the research hypothesis, the procedures used, the data, and the conclusions. In the case of engineering projects the abstract need only convey what the student is attempting to build, no hypothesis is needed. The only requirement for entry is that the engineering project work after its completion. The projects should be described in a lucidly written paragraph.
Media release is required for all participating students in all divisions, signed by the student or parent if the student is under 18 years of age. Students without a valid media release form (pdf) will not be allowed to participate at the STEM Showcase.
Incomplete forms will be rejected, thus delaying your project. Projects that fail to submit their paperwork on time will not be eligible for participation in the STEM Showcase. You can only upload PDF, JPEG, DOC and DOCX file formats where total upload size does not exceed 8MB. If you don't have a scanner, you can use your cell phone to take a picture of filled out project paperwork and upload the picture instead.
